5347 S. 22nd Ct., Cicero, IL 60804

Surface area: 95,000 sq. ft.

Project Total: $5.63 million

Description: This project involved constructing a new four-story school, classrooms, a gymnasium, administrative offices, and a media center. This project also included rough carpentry, drywall, elevators, GFRC column covers, doors/frames/hardware, exterior rainscreen, and climbing walls. In this building, every space is unconventional, with circulation opened up and pushed to the perimeter, uniquely shaped classrooms, large teaching space, a gymnasium, which doubles as a storm shelter, outdoor play areas, and an Exploratorium. The building consists of modern and efficient materials, with large spans of glass throughout, providing ample natural light and transparency.

All Construction Group’s general contracting team worked closely with the owner and construction managers to complete this state-of-the-art Elementary School for District 99 and the Town of Cicero. This project had multiple prime contracts that needed constant coordination. This was landmark success for the town of Cicero and construction management team.

The project was challenged by many unforeseen design coordination issues, compounding schedule and scope challenges as well as the typical school project challenges. This project was fast-paced with extenuating challenges of changing scope that required endless monitoring. But, through precise planning and communication we were able to overcome all issues that were faced on this project.

All Construction Group had an original contract value of $3.85 million and assumed $1.77 million in additional work orders. Our role in this project was to provide all union work force for the construction management team. Through our depth and breadth of skilled tradesmen we enabled the construction manager to maintain the site as a general contractor. This was further enhanced by our seasoned experienced management personnel who work closely with the construction management team to fulfill the needs of the client. Due to All Construction Group’s ability to provide multiple last-minute request with man and machine, we managed to allow District 99 to occupy for the start of the 2019-2020 school year.
